Positive Puppy: For puppies 10-20 weeks of age. Puppies experience socialization with other young dogs. Owners learn how to promote attention and focus. We will use praise, food and petting to reinforce good behavior. Goals for this class are: Loose leash walking, sit, down, stay, come when called with very light distraction, go to mat and more. $115
Foundations I: For dogs 5 months of age and older with no formal training OR Puppies who have attended our Positive Puppy Class.. Owners will earn how to mark desired behaviors with verbal/toy/food rewards. Learn basic handling skills, such as targeting, attention & focus, self-control games for dogs and more. Includes loose-leash walking, sit/down/stay, coming when called, sitting at doorways, sitting politely for petting, and more. $115.00
Foundations 2: Prerequisite - Foundations I or Instructor Permission. Good manners were the focus of the Foundations 1 class. Now you and your dog will polish those skills and build confidence for better behavior at home and in public. Increase attention and gain a better relationship with your dog. Long line leashes will be used for for recall response, plus an emphasis on distance stays in place. Exercises for off-leash walking will be introduced. Hone skills covered in prior classes with the addition of stay, "go to place," polite greetings, and more demanding distraction work including food and toys. $115.00
Foundations 3: Canine Good Citizen : Prerequisite Foundations 2 or Instructor Permission.Practice loose leash walking, recalls, sits & downs, supervised separation, sitting politely for petting, accepting a freindly stranger, allowing a stranger to check paws and ears, polite dog/dog greetings and other skills outlined in the AKC CGC test. and more. This class is perfect for those needing to practice the obedience skills to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. $115.00 Foundations 4: AKC Community Canine/Therapy Dog: Prerequisite Foundations 3 or Instructor Permission. Learn & practice the advanced skills needed for the Community Canine Test and work toward the Therapy Dog test. Skills learned/practiced include more advanced distraction work, sitting/staying in close proximity to other dogs (3 feet), walking through a crowd, lying/sitting near other dogs while owners fill out paperwork, Dog will sit or stand stay (owner's choice) while owner enters/exits a doorway or narrow passageway, Dogs will also be exposed to wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and canes. $115.00
This is an open ended class format that offers an individualized training plan that will help you attain your training goals. Whether you simply want to have a fun date with your dog or would like your dog to become a Canine Good Citizen or Therapy Dog, your dog will learn more complex behaviors like Go to Place and learn how to be more reliable around distractions. The skills learned are an excellent preparation for anyone wanting to have a certified therapy dog. The class is open to young and older dogs that have either taken the Obedience Manners Plus class or have already learned basic life manners. Dogs should know the basic cues of sit, down, stay and walking on leash with light distraction. $115
Advanced Workshop 1: Prerequisite Foundations 3 and Instructor Permission: Advanced heeling skills, attention work as well as footwork, handling skills and basic rally skills as they relate to obedience are covered. Basic jumping, recalls and target work are introduced. The class is geared to the pet owner who wants to do more with their dog as well as individual teams who want to perfect their skills in the competition ring. The workshop format allows handler/dog teams to work at their own pace. $100.00/$105.00
Advanced Workshop 2: Prerequisite Advanced Workshop 1 and Instructor Permission: This class provides practice and training for Novice/Open dogs and handlers. Introduction to retrieving as well as competition-level heeling, group stays and more. The workshop format allows handler/dog teams to work at their own pace. $105.00
Open/Utility Workshop: Prerequisite- Instructor Permission: Focus of the class is to work on and extend the skills needed for AKC, CKC, UKC or equivalent venues open and/or utility skills with a goal of competing. The workshop format allows handler/dog teams to work at their own pace. $100.00/$115.00
Manners Plus Semi-Private Class
This class offers a semi-private instruction format that gives a lot of personal attention to you and your dog, You will learn how to get your dog to actually pay attention you, how to teach your dog important impulse control exercises and how to work on foundation doggy life manners This is a great introduction to the Obedience Workshop class which teaches more advanced manners skills. Class size is limited to 4 students and open to young dogs between 5 months to 1 year of age. $160.00
